Hackensack's Johnson Free Public Library

Hackensack's Johnson Public Library throws its first-ever 'rave' for little kids on New Year's Eve morning, for families whose children cannot stay up for the midnight ball drop. The auditorium becomes a dance floor with sensory-friendly lighting and upbeat kid-techno music, and parents dance along with their little ones. The party ends with the library's annual countdown to noon and a balloon drop. Children are encouraged to wear bright, neon or glow-in-the-dark clothes. It runs from 11 am to noon on Thursday, December 31, for ages 6 and under, and registration is required. The Second Reformed Church of Hackensack sponsors it.
