Organizer

Chelsea Piers

Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers is an indoor, year-round facility on the Hudson River with two full-size ice rinks, so it is the dependable Manhattan option when outdoor rinks are slushy or sold out. General Skating public sessions run every week for ages 3 and up, usually in the early to mid afternoon on weekdays, and last roughly an hour to an hour and a half; the exact slots change from week to week, so check the drop-in calendar and pre-register, which the rink highly recommends. Skate rentals and locker rentals are available, there is a pro shop for sharpening, and Piers Pizza Company on site serves family meals between sessions. Children who want to keep going can join Learn to Skate classes from age 3, and Sky Rink runs half-day and full-day school-break camps for ages 3 and up on days school is closed. Holiday hours are shorter: Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve 7:30 am–4:00 pm, New Year's Day 8:00 am–4:00 pm, and the rink is closed on Christmas Day.
