The Long Island Children's Museum opens its winter sock-skating season with two drop-in crafts on November 7 and 8. In 'Let's Skate', children build a winter pond scene with a moving skater, a nod to New York's outdoor and pond skating. In 'Snow Ball Popper', they design a pom-pom-tossing snow friend. Each craft takes about ten minutes and goes home with the child. The crafts run from noon to 2 pm on Saturday and 1 to 3 pm on Sunday, are listed for ages 2 and up, and are included with museum admission.
