About this adventure
On December 23 the Union County Performing Arts Center's historic Main Stage in Rahway screens The Polar Express on 35mm film as part of its I. Joseph Hyatt Classic Film Series. Doors open at 6 pm with a holiday organ concert on the theatre organ before the 7 pm film, and families can snap a selfie with Santa in the lobby and tell him last-minute wishes. The G-rated film follows a boy who boards a mysterious train to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. It is tagged as part of UCPAC's FamiliesFirst programming, and the evening runs about two hours, so it works best for children who can stay up past bedtime during winter break. Tickets are $17 in advance or $22 on the day, all-in.
