THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride returns to Whippany Station in Morris County for the 2026 season, recreating the classic children's story aboard a real train with a cast of actors. Passengers are served hot chocolate and Walker's Shortbread by dancing chefs, hear the story read aloud, and meet Santa, who boards the train and gives each child the First Gift of Christmas, a silver sleigh bell, before everyone sings carols on the way back. This year there is no outdoor North Pole set; the show stays inside the train. The whole visit lasts about two hours, and pajamas are encouraged. Departures run most days from November into late December at several showtimes, with a Sensory Friendly train on December 1 at 3:25 and 5:25 p.m. featuring softer audio and lighting.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Ride dates were transcribed from the 2026 price calendar image on the scheduling page (the season starts Nov 1, before this window). The FAQ asks guests to arrive about 60 minutes before showtime in one answer and about 40 minutes in another. Children under 2 ride free on a lap and get a silver sleigh bell but no treat or hot chocolate. Organizer described availability as "confirmed".
