About this adventure
Winter Lantern Festival sets up its outdoor lantern trail on the fields of Queens County Farm Museum in Floral Park for the 2026 holiday season, listed on the farm's own calendar as Illuminate the Farm. Families walk an evening route of hundreds of larger-than-life Chinese lanterns, handmade and lit with LEDs and inspired by folklore and legends; some pieces move or change color. Along the way there are live performances, food and drink from local vendors and an artisans' tent selling crafts. The organizer welcomes all ages, the paths take strollers, and children under 3 get in free. Tickets are dated and sold online through Fever, with a box office on site that may sell out, so booking ahead is safer; date changes are allowed up to five hours before. Arrive around the time on the ticket, as last entry is an hour before closing. Free on-site parking is available, and since the whole visit is outdoors on a farm in late fall and winter, warm layers and boots help.
