The Newark Museum of Art's free Winter Wonderland Community Day returns on Saturday, December 12, from noon to 5 pm, spread across the Main Building, the North and South Wings and the Ballantine House. Families can catch seasonal performances, make arts and crafts, listen to storytelling, explore holiday traditions from different cultures and warm up with free hot chocolate. There is also a holiday market to browse and a community toy drive. Guided tours of the decorated Ballantine House show how 19th-century families kept the holidays. Entry is free, but registration is required through the museum's link.
