About this adventure

The Arcadia Round Barn, built in 1898 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the only round barn on Route 66 and a quick, free stop six miles east of I-35 in Arcadia. Inside are exhibits about the barn and its history plus a gift shop; outside, displays of primitive farm implements give children a look at early farm tools. The upstairs loft hosts free volunteer music programs. With the 100th anniversary of Route 66 in 2026, it pairs well with a drive along the old highway. The barn is run by volunteers, so call the gift shop to confirm it is open during extreme temperatures or bad weather.
