About this adventure
The First Americans Museum (FAM) along the Oklahoma River shares the cultures and histories of the 39 Tribal Nations in Oklahoma today. Its FAMily Discovery Center is a hands-on children's area included with general admission; waivers are required and it closes at 4 pm daily, an hour before the museum. Ticketed visitors can also add free Daily Experiences of 45-60 minutes: a 1 pm all-ages Hands-On Activity that changes with the seasons, plus guided tours at 11:30 am (WINIKO: Life of an Object, with Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian loans) and 2:30 pm (OKLA HOMMA, the Tribal Nations gallery); sign up when buying tickets. Youth 16 and under must be with an adult, outside food is not allowed, and visitors may not climb the side of the Mound. A nursing station and a family restroom are available, and wheelchairs can be borrowed free.
