About this adventure

Scissortail Park is the 70-acre downtown park between Oklahoma City Boulevard and SW 15th Street, run by the nonprofit Scissortail Park Foundation. Its children's play area in the Upper Park has climbing walls, geometric dome climbers, children's gardens and a large shaded fort with a tower and slides, with restrooms at the Play Pavilion and workout equipment next to it. Interactive fountains sit beside the playground and along the promenade for hot days. Families can also walk the 240-foot Lake Bridge, fly kites on the open lawns, use the basketball and futsal courts in the Lower Park, and ride bikes or scooters (non-motorized). On weekends in season the Scissortail Boathouse rents pedal boats (including an ADA-accessible one), kayaks and a canoe for $15 per boat for up to 30 minutes; riders must be at least 36 inches tall and children 12 and younger ride with an adult. The OKC Streetcar stops at the park's northeast corner.
