About this adventure
A holiday train runs on the north-east lawn of Lake Eola Park on weekend evenings during Downtown for the Holidays, downtown Orlando's free December program. It is a simple ride for young children that pairs well with the other activities around the lake on the same nights: the Merry Market of local vendors, the Grinch meet-and-greet, Santa at the Eola House and the synchronized light-and-music show on the six-story Christmas tree, which plays hourly from 5:45 PM. The train runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings for the first three weekends of December. Downtown parking garages and lots fill up on these nights; the city suggests SunRail, the free LYMMO circulator or ride share.
