About this adventure
A state park naturalist leads an evening walk and talk about bats around the Giving Pond Recreation Area just before Halloween. The group covers bat science and folklore, why people have been fascinated by them for thousands of years, and looks for bats flying over the pond at dusk. The walk is about two miles round trip on mostly flat ground. All ages are welcome; dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks. There is a portable toilet in the parking lot. Registration is required through the DCNR events site.
