On the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27, food historian Susan Plaisted spends 11 am to 2 pm in the Mercer Museum's Historic Log House, in the quad just outside the museum in Doylestown. At this free drop-in program visitors learn how gingerbread evolved from a mixture of ginger and breadcrumbs into the gingerbread we know today, so families can stop by at any point in the three hours instead of booking a set time. The museum files it under its family, educational and food programs; no registration or age guidance is printed on the listing.
