After the WinterFest premiere, Avondale keeps its Avondazzle holiday lights up at the Civic Center for the rest of the season. Families can stroll the displays any evening from December 6 through January 1, and a light show plays every 30 minutes on the City Christmas Tree, which makes it an easy short outing with small children: arrive, watch one show, walk the lights. Nearby, the city's Avondazzle Dash (1K, 5K and 10K, December 19) sends costumed runners through the same lights. The city has not published nightly hours for the display on its events page, so plan an after-dark visit and check the city calendar for any closures.
