El Mirage Library's third annual Noon Year's Eve party gives young children a New Year's countdown they can actually stay awake for. This year's theme is astronauts and the galaxy: youth and families are invited to blast off into the new year with space-themed activities, crafts and music, ending with a special countdown to noon. Children are encouraged to come in astronaut gear or cosmic colors. The party lasts one hour, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on New Year's Eve, in the library's event room. It is a drop-in event with no registration required, and the Maricopa County Library District lists it for all ages, from infants and toddlers through teens.
