A free First Friday evening on the Herberger Theater Center's outdoor Pavilion in downtown Phoenix. 'Calaveras Cantantes y Calacas Bailantes' is a Día de los Muertos celebration of life that honours the departed through original music, dance, multilingual spoken word and poetry, colourful costumes and handmade art, with dancers Elena Cano, Rigo Sandoval and others and a group of musicians and special guests in a 'Noche de Ofrendas'. A gentle introduction to the holiday's traditions for families with children; the performance runs within the 6–9 PM window, and First Friday art walks surround the venue.
