About this adventure
Sculptor Ray Villafane, known worldwide for carving pumpkins into lifelike faces and creatures, gives a live carving demonstration at Gilbert's Water Tower Plaza in the Heritage District. Families can watch a plain pumpkin turn into a detailed sculpture over the morning, ask questions and see the tools and techniques up close — a good stop for school-age kids interested in art, on the Saturday before Halloween. It is an outdoor demonstration you can drop into for as long as you like during the four hours; HD SOUTH, Gilbert's history museum, is a block away.
