Tweens aged 9 to 12 learn basic watercolor techniques at Chandler's Hamilton Library while painting Christmas cards and bookmarks to give as handmade gifts. The 75-minute after-school workshop on a Monday provides all paints, paper and supplies, so children just bring ideas for who they want to make something for. It suits budding artists who want a calm, creative break before the holidays. Registration is required and spaces are limited, so sign up early through the library's events calendar.
