UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex offers drop-in public skate for families, all ages and all skill levels, with music and a light show. Skaters who do not own skates can rent hockey or figure skates. A skate walker is a separate rental. Admission and both rentals have printed prices. Tickets are bought in a SportsEngine account by adding family members and choosing public skate under drop-in events for a date. Online sales end one hour before the session. The page says many sessions sell out and that admissions are pre-sold the day of, not earlier, with payment due when the ticket is reserved. October and November schedule tables on the page did not render any dates or hours in the fetch, so families have to open the drop-in list to see a day. Helmets are not required and are encouraged, including hockey and bike helmets. The rules say skaters may not carry children, may not wear headphones, and may not have more than two people skate together. Jumps, spins, and racing are prohibited.
