The City's outdoor rink in Schenley Park is an ice surface from November through March and a roller surface from May through August. Ice skating is scheduled to reopen in mid-November with public sessions every day of the week. Thursday evening is Family Skate Night, with one free youth admission per paid adult; some late Tuesday, Friday and Saturday sessions are adults only. Skate aids are available first come, first served at all sessions except adults-only ones. Sessions are capped at 300 people, and non-skating parents also pay admission. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve only the 1:30-3:00 pm session runs; the rink is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
