The Columbia Gorge Model Railroad Club opens its large model railroad layout in North Portland to the public for its annual fall show over four weekends in November and early December. The layout includes a miniature Portland as it looked in the early 1950s, with streetcars, cyclists and a working model of the Steel Bridge, among many other scenes, and trains running throughout. The club says the annual show is the best time to visit, because members focus on giving the public a good experience. Tickets are timed: the time on the ticket is your entry time, not a limit on how long you can stay. VIP tickets are also offered.
