About this adventure

The Lloyd Center sits on 82 acres of oak-hickory forest, freshwater wetlands, salt marsh and estuary in Dartmouth, with seven walking trails and views of Buzzards Bay, Demarest Lloyd State Park, Mishaum Point and the islands. Families can walk the gently sloping Osprey Point Trail to a lookout over the Slocum River (ospreys in summer and fall) past two of the largest holly trees in Massachusetts, stop at the bird blind by a kettle hole on the Chaypee Woods Trail, or take the level West Swamp Trail, where spotted salamanders and turtles hide in the swamp. The short Wildflower Trail circles the driveway loop, the Hardscrabble Farm Loop is the longest, and the 0.8-mile Lloyd Woods Trail crosses Potomska Road to overlook Little River. The main building is closed during construction, but the trails stay open and free.
