About this adventure

Guided holiday tours at Historic Oak View County Park, a former plantation and farm in east Raleigh, through six holiday displays with decorations from the antebellum era to World War II. Guides explain how Christmas was experienced by the many different people and families who lived and worked at Oak View through its long history, from its days as a plantation to farm management, sharecropping and tenant farming. Recommended for upper-elementary children and older. Tours last an hour, run rain or shine, and involve brick paths and stairs in historic buildings. Free, but registration is required; check in at the Farm History Center, and the tour meets in the Main House.
