About this adventure
North Carolina's only Olympic-size ice sheet, run by Polar Ice NC, offers public skating sessions year-round for the whole family, plus Learn to Skate classes, figure skating, youth hockey and Camp Chillin' for ages 5–11. Session times vary by day and are posted on the Public Skating Calendar (DaySmart), where tickets can also be bought. Skate rental is included in weekday admission and for children 5 and under. Dress for the cold — long pants, sweatshirts and gloves are recommended — and note that everyone on the ice must wear skates and children may not be carried on the ice.
