The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

A drop-in, hour-long session for toddlers and the adults who bring them, held twice a week at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert. Educators lead nature-inspired activities built around movement, curiosity and working together, with hands-on experiences meant to build creativity and early critical-thinking skills, and time for little ones to play and learn alongside other children their age. Sessions meet at the Learning and Impact Department building, between the Kookaburra Cafe and Australian Adventures. No advance registration is needed; families simply arrive for the 9:30 am start. The program itself is free for zoo members or with paid park admission, so plan to combine it with a morning at the zoo. It skips the Thanksgiving dates (November 24 and 27) and the winter holiday dates (December 22, 25 and 29 and January 1).
