About this adventure
Elk Grove's Veterans Day parade is organized by American Legion Post 233, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Marine Corps League Detachment 1238. The parade steps off at 11:11 a.m. from the Cosumnes CSD building on Elk Grove Boulevard and travels via Elk Grove-Florin Road to Elk Grove Regional Park. Families line the route to wave to veterans, marching units and community groups, which makes it a good way to talk with children about what the day honors. Arrive before the step-off to find a spot along Elk Grove Boulevard; the city's listing runs from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
