Grown-Ups & Gliders is a one-hour beginner skating class at the outdoor Historic Folsom Ice Rink designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups to learn together. Instruction comes first, followed by time to skate and practise side by side, and no skating experience is needed. Classes run on four Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m.: November 17 and December 1, 2026, and January 5 and January 12, 2027. The $40 fee covers one grown-up plus one child under 5 and includes the class, skate rental for both skaters and the 10:00 a.m. public skate session. Each class is capped at 20 pairs, so book ahead through the rink's ticket page. The rink is outdoors and the Folsom Historic District notes that rain, sun and wind can change ice conditions, and sessions may be delayed, modified or cancelled if the ice is unsafe, so dress small children in warm layers and gloves. The lessons are led by the rink's skating school team under Team USA Figure Skating Team Leader Michelle Davis, according to the rink page.
