About this adventure
Hansen's has run a snow-tubing hill in South Lake Tahoe for more than 70 years, and many families make it a winter tradition. Its draw is a luge-style tube course rather than an open sledding slope. A ticket buys one hour on the hill with the tube included, and the resort opens daily in winter from 10 AM to 4 PM. Children 4 and under ride free with a paying adult. Payment is cash only, so bring bills. The site's season banner reads 'See you next season 2026-2027' and no opening date has been posted; the season starts once there is snow, so check before driving up.
