About this adventure
The final weekend of the Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad's autumn rail-motorcar trips. Families board at the Oak Avenue station in Folsom for a 10-minute ride to the Pumpkin Patch at Willow Springs, set in the woods beside Willow Creek. At the patch there are activities such as pumpkin bowling and cookie decorating, and each child picks out and decorates a free pumpkin while supplies last. Motorcars depart every 30 minutes and you can stay as long as you like; the railroad estimates 60 to 90 minutes for a family visit. It is a gentle, short train ride well suited to toddlers and early-elementary children. Tickets went on sale in September and are sold through the railroad's ticket page.
