Spend an hour by the fire with a Lost Maples ranger, chatting and making self-serve s'mores (first come, first served) as the evening cools. It is held outdoors at the day-use area at 5 pm; bring your own camp chair, stool or blanket and dress for the weather. It is an easy, low-key program for families with young children who are not up for a long hike. It is free with park admission ($6 day pass for ages 13 and older); reserve a day pass in advance, as fall days often sell out. It may be canceled due to weather.
