A Texas Master Naturalist or park ranger leads an easy one-hour walk to a scenic overlook, talking about local geology, why water matters here, and the plants and animals along the way. The trail is under three-quarters of a mile and mostly level with some rocky patches, so school-age children and grandparents can manage it. All ages and friendly leashed dogs are welcome, and there is no need to register. Meet outside the Discovery Center at 9 am with sturdy shoes, water and sun protection. The park notes the walk is a good fit for homeschool groups.
