Guadalupe River State Park runs outdoor classes for homeschooled children in grades K–5 (ages 5–10), using the park as a classroom. Each month covers a different topic: trees in November and mammals and their adaptations in December. Families choose one 90-minute session (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday at 10 am) during the second full week of the month. Each offering is limited to 25 students and needs registration; there is no fee, and park entry is waived for the student and a parent or guardian under an educational waiver. Logistics are emailed the Friday before. Children under 5 are dropped from the roster.
