About this adventure

Coronado's annual holiday parade and tree lighting is one of the biggest small-town holiday nights in San Diego County. The city's 120-foot Christmas tree at Rotary Plaza, on Orange Avenue at Isabella Avenue, is switched on with its more than 18,000 lights, and a long evening parade of local bands, school groups, community organizations and floats travels Orange Avenue, looping at R.H. Dana Place and Adella Avenue, while families line the sidewalks of the downtown business district. Past parades have had more than 1,400 participants, so expect big crowds: arrive early to stake out a curbside spot, bring a blanket or low chairs and warm layers for small children, and plan for road closures and limited parking around Orange Avenue (walking or biking in from nearby neighborhoods is easiest). The Coronado Chamber of Commerce runs the event with the City of Coronado; 2026 start times and the program had not been posted when this listing was checked.
