About this adventure
Solana Beach's 21st annual holiday tree lighting takes place at oceanfront Fletcher Cove Park, hosted by the City and its Parks and Recreation Commission. New this year is a snow hill for sledding and a snow play area, alongside sweets, treats, hot cocoa and cider. Festivities start at 4:30 pm; the mayor and City Council flip the switch on the tree, and Santa is scheduled to arrive with a fire-truck escort at 5:20 pm, after which children can tell him what they are hoping for. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public, and the cove's ocean view makes it a sunset outing. Arrive close to the start time if your children want to sled or meet Santa early.
