The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum's most popular event: a 90-minute vintage train ride from the Campo Depot through the East County backcountry to the 'North Pole,' where Santa and Mrs. Claus board and visit every passenger on the way back. Elf crew members lead holiday sing-alongs and stories and serve hot chocolate and cookies. Trains run Fridays and Saturdays at 5 and 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 and 5 p.m., November 27 – December 20. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to collect tickets in the historic waiting room. Coach fares start at $15 for children 1–17 and $30 for adults; infants under 1 on a lap ride free; Business and First Class cost more and fares rise closer to Christmas. Tickets sell out—buy ahead.
