About this adventure

On the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center holds its Santa's Coming! Craft Fair, a holiday market where local vendors sell handcrafted goods and gifts, open from 9 AM to 4 PM both days. Santa makes a special stop at the farm: from 12:30 to 2:30 PM on each day he rides along on a free tractor hayride, and afterwards families can take their own festive photos with him, so bring a camera. Live music plays from noon to 3 PM and food is sold on both days. For children there are pony rides at $14 a ride (80-pound weight limit), face painting priced by design and the farm's zoo animals, which are free to visit. Admission and parking are free, so a family can combine a little gift shopping, a hayride with Santa and a visit to the farm animals without buying a ticket.
