The Holiday Bowl's balloon parade, billed by its organizers as America's largest balloon parade, rolls through the bayside streets of downtown San Diego on the morning of Monday, December 28, 2026, ahead of the 47th Holiday Bowl game at Snapdragon Stadium that afternoon. The parade, presented by Kaiser Permanente, brings together marching bands from around the country, floats, drill teams and a long procession of enormous inflatable balloons, and the organizers expect more than 100,000 spectators along the route plus a national television audience. Street-side viewing is free, which makes it an easy outing during the winter school break for families with children of any age; arrive early for a curb spot. The festivities begin with the Port of San Diego Game Day 5K Run/Walk along the harbor front, which starts at Harbor Drive and Ash Street, and runners and families can stay to watch the rest of the parade. The organizers suggest the trolley or downtown metered and paid lots for parking.
