Members of the San Diego Astronomy Association set up telescopes at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground day-use parking lot on the first Friday of each month for a public star party at Mission Trails Regional Park. Viewing starts at dusk. Guests must park in the Bushy Hill parking lot outside the campground and walk in—driving through the day-use lot kicks up dust that harms the telescopes. Bring a headlamp or flashlight with a red-light setting. Good for kids old enough to wait their turn at the eyepiece; dress warmly.
