About this adventure
For Native American Heritage Month, an East Bay Regional Park District naturalist visits the Oakley Library to show how the Ohlone and Bay Miwok peoples lived with the marshes of the Delta. They turned tule, a marsh reed, into homes, boats and clothing. After the talk, children make their own tule craft to take home. The program is aimed at children 6–12, though the library says all ages and abilities are welcome. It runs one hour after school, and no registration is listed.
