About this adventure

Oakland Ice Center in Uptown Oakland is a year-round indoor rink run by Sharks Ice. It holds public skating sessions seven days a week, a dependable option on rainy winter days and over school breaks. Skates can be rented at the rink. For children under 12 who are still learning to balance, the rink rents skating aids for half-hour blocks; an adult must accompany the child using one. Every skater must pre-register online for a specific public session, and spaces are limited, so book by the day before. Each skater wears a purchase sticker on the ice. Figure-skating harnesses are not allowed during public sessions, and no food or drink is allowed on the ice. Parking is in the Dalziel garage on 16th Street between Clay and San Pablo. Group Learn to Skate lessons for beginners are listed separately.
