The Tilden Nature Area in the Berkeley hills includes the historic Little Farm (built 1955, with cows, sheep, goats, rabbits, chickens and pigs), the Environmental Education Center (EEC) with exhibits and the headquarters for naturalist programs, and trails to Jewel Lake. The Little Farm is open during regular park hours (park open daily 5am–10pm); EBRPD states that public feeding of the farm animals has been discontinued. The EEC is open year-round Tuesday–Sunday 10am–4:30pm, closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. No parking fee; no charge for the farm or EEC. Dogs are not allowed in the Nature Area and bikes are prohibited around the EEC and Little Farm. Frequent free drop-in programs include Good Night Farm, Tilden Tots, Creature Feature (Saturdays 10:30am) and Sunday Storytime (10:30am).
