About this adventure
This December Family Farm Day at Slide Ranch explores the coastal farm's garden in its winter season and turns its plants into handmade gifts. Families make herb wreaths, tea and salve, plus candles to brighten the darker season, so children go home with presents for friends and relatives. Like every Family Farm Day it runs 3.5 hours and includes goat milking with the ranch's dairy goats and time with the other farm animals. The ranch, a partner of the Golden Gate National Parks, says the program suits all ages. Children 36 months and under are free and everyone else pays per person; register ahead. Overnight camping at the ranch the night before is available separately. Bring warm layers: the site sits on the cliffs above Muir Beach.
