About this adventure
Slide Ranch is a coastal teaching farm above Muir Beach, inside the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Its Family Farm Days are 3.5-hour guided mornings that include goat milking. The Thankful Bellies edition is a day of giving thanks for the ranch and its garden. Families write poetry for the garden, sip fresh garden tea, and snack on herbed popcorn and fresh focaccia with pesto. There are also self-guided tasting tours and time with the ranch's chickens, ducks, goats and sheep. Slide Ranch says the day suits all ages. Children 36 months and under come free; everyone else pays per person and registers in advance. Families can also camp at the ranch on Friday night (separate booking). Dress in layers for wind and fog on the coast.
