About this adventure
The Computer History Museum in Mountain View tells the story of computing from the abacus to artificial intelligence. Older children and teens can talk with a chatbot-powered robot in Chatbots Decoded: Exploring AI, walk through 2,000 years of calculating machines, punched cards, early PCs and video games in Revolution, and see in Make Software: Change the World! how software runs everything from car design to games. The drop-in Learning Lab is the most hands-on corner for families: in the Next Lab visitors can deconstruct a computer or solve a coded puzzle, and the Hub has discovery stations, an interactive wall of tech innovators from around the world and notes from CHM's teen interns. Public tours run on some days, and a café and store are on site. Best for school-age kids and teens with an interest in technology.
