About this adventure
Sharks Ice at San Jose's Learn to Skate program teaches group skating and hockey lessons from age 3 through adult, with small student-to-teacher ratios. Each weekly class has 30 minutes of instruction plus 30 minutes of supervised practice, and skaters earn a pin for each level completed. Youth skating classes for ages 3–17 start with Parent & Tot or Tiny Tot 1 (ages 3–5) or Beginner 1 / Pre-Alpha (ages 6–17) and continue through freestyle, ice dance and synchronized skating. A parallel youth hockey path runs from Hockey Tot and Pre-Hockey for ages 3–5 up to Hockey 3 and power skating; Hockey 1–3 require full gear. Series run about 12 weeks (winter series January–March, summer 10 weeks); registration opens 5–6 weeks before each series and late joiners can check the portal. A 10% sibling discount may apply, and Learn to Skate students get 10% off skates at the pro shop.
