About this adventure
Sharks Ice at San Jose, the San Jose Sharks' practice facility, runs public ice skating sessions seven days a week, mostly on its White Rink near the main entrance. Sessions are open to all ages and skill levels, from first-timers to experienced skaters, and rental skates come in sizes from toddler 6 to adult 15. Beginners can use stacking 'buckets' as skate aids during the first two sessions on Saturdays and Sundays and on national holidays; parents who want to help a child on the ice must pay admission and wear skates too. Monday Mania gives 90 minutes of skating with rental for $16 starting at 7 p.m., and Tuesday evenings are adults only. Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registering online through DaySmart is recommended at peak times and holidays. The rink is cashless (a cash-to-card machine is in the lobby); gloves and warm clothing are recommended, and hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed during public sessions.
