About this adventure

Sanborn is a 3,453-acre mountain park of redwoods and tanbark oaks in the Santa Cruz Mountains between Saratoga and Skyline Boulevard. For families, the day-use area has a one-mile nature trail that shows off the park's plants and animals and a forty-acre grassy picnic area with tables year round, and the Lake Ranch Trail is a shaded, easy hike between Lake Ranch and Black Road. Experienced hikers have more than 22 miles of trail. An RV campground is open year round; hike-in tent camping is closed from the third Sunday in October to the third Friday in March, and car camping is not allowed. In summer the park hosts Silicon Valley Shakespeare's outdoor productions.
