About this adventure
The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a touring holiday mash-up of hip hop dance and Tchaikovsky's music, directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber. Maria-Clara and the Nutcracker Prince still battle a gang of mice and visit the land of sweets, but digital graffiti and video move the story from 19th-century Germany to a vibrant modern city. Broadway San Jose bills it as a show for the whole family; it runs about two hours with a 20-minute intermission, so it suits school-age kids and teens best. Every guest needs a ticket regardless of age (no lap seats); buy only from Ticketmaster or the San Jose Civic or Center for the Performing Arts box offices.
