Each fall chum salmon (and a few coho) return to Pipers Creek in Carkeek Park from late October to early December. Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle Parks & Recreation and the Carkeek Watershed Community Action Project invite families to Carkeek's Annual Salmon Celebration on Saturday, November 21, 2026, a family-friendly event with Spanish translators on site. Visitors can see the salmon up close and learn about Seattle's urban salmon run.
