Every 2:00 pm sailing of the Argosy Christmas Ship Festival is the family sailing: children and youth on board get cookies with Santa and a coloring surprise. The Spirit of Seattle, strung with hundreds of white lights, makes a 1.5-hour cruise to a waterfront community while a community choir sings on board, Santa reads 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and the ship pauses offshore for a 20-minute choir performance broadcast to people gathered on the beach. Departure docks change by date: Carillon Point in Kirkland (Nov 28), Hyatt Regency Lake Washington in Renton (Dec 5), Kirkland City Dock (Dec 12, 19, 20, 21, 22) and Lake Union Park on the Grand Finale day (Dec 23). Argosy notes that adult tickets are $3 cheaper on 2 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm sailings. Tickets are booked by date or departure location on the Argosy site; check the schedule for the choir and shoreline stop of each sailing.
